FittingRoom Pro 4.0.1
FittingRoom Pro is a Paper plugin for character creation, layered clothing, wardrobes, barbers, shops, and an in-game Creator interface.
Latest update
- Minecraft 26.3 packet support now uses the official PacketEvents 2.14.0 release. Update an already installed PacketEvents JAR to 2.14.0 and fully restart; FittingRoom Pro preserves existing dependency files. Paper 26.x requires Java 25.
-
This release includes the recent hosting, setup, camera, skin and Studio changes below. Start with the documentation index (see
docs/README.mdin the download) and 4.0.1 upgrade notes (seedocs/release-4.0.1.mdin the download). -
Standalone hosting and Studio now provide separate setup guidance through
/clothes pack setupand/clothes studio setup. Bind failures identify the local address/port settings, local-only pack URLs disable forced acceptance, and remote players are directed to setup instead of an unusable localhost editor link. See standalone and website hosting (seedocs/standalone-hosting.mdin the download). -
GUI exit reasserts the player’s authoritative camera and visibility metadata, with bounded recovery that stops when another menu opens.
- Original/dark theme selection applies to inventory GUIs. Creator, Previewer and in-world Studio artwork/text stay as authored.
- World menus block held-item use, offhand swapping and inventory movement; canceled predicted item use receives an acknowledgement and inventory resync.
- Creator and Previewer cursors render closer to the camera while preserving their apparent size and logical hit targets.
-
DynamicUV previews resend their complete appearance after tracking begins and when skin layers refresh. Outer UV/alpha regressions are covered; live-client confirmation remains outstanding.
-
Studio opens with an Overview for workspace choices, draft recovery and read-only setup checks.
/clothes doctorexplains setup issues;/clothes statusgives the compact report. See setup checks (seedocs/setup-checks.mdin the download) and the Studio workflow (seedocs/studio-workflow.mdin the download). - Skin composition workers stay available while uploads or player-thread handoffs wait. Admitted appearance results have reserved completion capacity, and overload no longer runs image work on the command caller. Local previews avoid duplicate completion refreshes; avatar animation resolves its skeleton once per frame. These changes have deterministic regression evidence; live latency and server profiling remain separate checks.
- First-time setup extracts bundled overlays once before menu generation.
/clothes extractnow refreshes wardrobe and Creator options and rebuilds the provider pack in one operation. Nexo setup requests its pack reload automatically; menu colour prerequisites have visible guidance. See setup and recovery (seedocs/first-install-wardrobe-nexo.mdin the download). - Opening Body Type with no saved race now safely selects the first enabled race, or keeps race unset when none are available. This fixes the null-selection exception that cleared the menu on entry.
- Creator restores its visible UI and camera after client respawns or resource-pack resets. Completed skin uploads recheck the current session on the player’s entity thread before changing a profile.
- Modern resource-pack format arrays are preserved, and the welcome screen handles failed reloads, invalid URLs, and discarded packs.
- Beards use the same hair-family colour palette as hair and embedded eyebrows. Their swatches resolve through the shared
wardrobe/palette/hairsartwork, including fresh-pack generation. - Eyebrows stay embedded in the Hair screen instead of appearing as a duplicate category.
- Studio and Creator accept legacy 64 × 32 overlay PNGs and normalize them to the 64 × 64 runtime canvas.
- Hair and beard palette previews use the real available source variants, stable selection state, and cached artwork.
- Creator image previews keep the full selection frame and avoid regenerating unrelated overlays during colour changes.
- Native Creator layout edits are preserved across saves; re-import is only needed when the live native files actually changed.
- Maintenance targets are Paper 1.21.5 through 26.3, with future releases requiring verification. PacketEvents 2.14.0 supplies the 26.3 protocol mappings; native-client visual and gameplay validation remains separate. See the release validation matrix (see
docs/compatibility-runtime-matrix.mdin the download) for the outstanding server/client gates.
Install or update
- Stop the server and back up
plugins/ClothesPlus. - Replace the plugin with
FittingRoom-Pro-4.0.1.jar. Keep one FittingRoom Pro JAR and one official PacketEvents Spigot 2.14.0 JAR, then fully restart. - Keep your configuration, overlays, outfits, player records,
licensingfolder and persistent.server-id. Put your FittingRoom Pro license key inplugins/ClothesPlus/licensing/clothesplus-license.key. Existing root-level key files remain supported by migration. - Run
/clothes doctor,/clothes pack setupand/clothes studio setup. Configure a pack URL reachable from the player’s computer. Configure your MineSkin API key with/clothes apikey <key>for skin signing. - Wait for the configured pack provider to finish, accept the pack in Minecraft, then open
/wardrobeor/ccreator.
License and account
This update keeps the existing FittingRoom Pro license service and key-file format. Back up and keep your current key and server identity. It does not reset purchase ownership or bypass licensing. If your account’s key cannot activate, contact support with your order reference; do not post your full key publicly.
First-time setup and existing-server recovery
New installations extract the bundled overlays automatically. Set your MineSkin key with /clothes apikey <key>, wait for the selected pack provider to finish, and accept the pack in Minecraft before opening /wardrobe or /ccreator.
For an existing server with missing wardrobe categories, run /clothes extract once and wait for its result. It keeps existing overlay files, refreshes both menus, and rebuilds the pack. A separate /clothes pack wardrobe-icons is no longer required after extraction. Existing overlay_extract.enabled: false settings stay respected at startup.
With Nexo, automatic apply requests /nexo reload pack. Its Pack.dispatch.send_on_reload setting controls whether that rebuild also sends the pack; otherwise use /nexo pack <player>. If automatic apply is disabled, run /nexo reload pack after FittingRoom Pro finishes. Reopen the menu after Minecraft loads the pack. In a colour-based category, select a colour to reveal its styles; eyebrows and beards link to the Hair colour picker when needed.
Studio editor setup
- Copy
FittingRoom-Pro-4.0.1.jarinto the serverpluginsdirectory and restart the Paper server. - Confirm the resource-pack provider and overlays are installed, then run
/clothes cursor setcamerawhile standing where the Creator should appear. - Run
/clothes doctor, then/clothes studioand open the private link. Overview shows workspace choices, draft status and setup checks. A desktop browser is recommended for detailed scene editing. - Use Creator → Visual scene to place panels, lists, thumbnails, palette controls, the NPC preview, and shared buttons. Use Creator settings for text/image listing mode, vertical/horizontal orientation, rows, and optional all-category navigation.
- Use Colour Studio to review shared Hair, beards & brows, Eyes, and Skin palettes. Keep source PNGs at 64 × 64, or use the supported legacy 64 × 32 format.
- Select Save draft, then Review & Publish. Publish after the layout or native settings are ready. Do not re-import for every colour selection; re-import only after an external/native file edit.
- After the provider reports delivery, reconnect or run the provider’s normal pack reload once so the client receives the new generated models.
Plugin updates in this release
The Creator runtime now shares hair-family palette identities across hair, beards, and eyebrows, filters the duplicate eyebrow route, and keeps palette model paths valid on a fresh Creator-only pack. Studio source inspection accepts both current and legacy overlay dimensions, with deterministic normalization and cache invalidation. Live Creator controls remain editable in Visual scene while runtime choices, search, scrolling, and selection are supplied by the native session.
Requirements
- Java 21 for Paper 1.21.x; Java 25 for Paper 26.1 and newer, following Paper’s runtime requirements. The plugin targets Java 21 bytecode.
- Paper-family Minecraft server with PacketEvents 2.14.0 in the 2.x series. ItemsAdder, Nexo, Vault, LuckPerms, and PlaceholderAPI integrations remain optional.
- Clients must accept the generated resource pack for custom models, fonts, and UI textures.
Useful commands
/clothes doctor
/clothes status
/clothes version
/clothes cursor setcamera
/clothes studio
/clothes pack wardrobe-icons
/iazip (when ItemsAdder is the configured provider)
Player data and uploaded clothing are kept when replacing the plugin jar. Configuration reset is an administrative migration choice; back up the server before applying one.
What was checked
The 8 October 2026 FittingRoom Pro branding build passed final packaging and artifact checks, including the supplied artwork and retained plugin identifiers. The full test run exercised 1,654 tests and found one obsolete branding expectation; after correcting it, 66 focused tests passed. This renamed JAR has not been started in a fresh Minecraft server session.
The earlier ClothesPlus 4.0.1 build loaded on Paper 26.3 build 157 BETA with Java 25.0.2 and PacketEvents 2.14.0, then stopped at the missing-license-key requirement. That earlier check does not establish licensed startup or real-player camera, skin, pack and gameplay behavior for this branding build. Provider, proxy and Folia combinations remain unverified.
